For local governments, businesses and organizations
Be the official source, and the recommended one
Residents and customers now ask AI before they ever reach your website. We help townships and authorities move to a verified .gov, and help local businesses rebuild their sites so search engines and AI assistants can read them and recommend them.

Good Neighbor Marketing
Reach your neighbors, invite your community.
Your community deserves a .gov
It's the web address only verified governments can hold. It protects residents, builds public trust and costs nothing to register.
Pennsylvania has more than 2,500 municipalities, and fewer than 300 .gov addresses belong to its cities, boroughs and townships. Check yours.

Trusted, and hard to fake
Anyone can buy a .com or .org that looks like yours. A .gov is only issued to a verified U.S. government organization, and only after a senior official approves the request, which makes lookalike sites and spoofed emails much harder to pull off.
Security built in
Every new .gov domain is added to the browsers' HTTPS preload list, so visitors always get an encrypted connection. Requests start with an identity check through Login.gov.
Ready for cyber grants
The federal State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program lists moving to .gov among the required parts of each state's cybersecurity plan. Its funding lapsed in September 2026 while Congress weighs a renewal, and a .gov already in place keeps you ready if it returns.
Free, and clearly official
CISA (the federal cybersecurity agency that runs .gov) charges nothing to register or renew. In an emergency, an election or a boil-water notice, a .gov address tells residents they've reached the official source, and official email on the same domain retires the township Gmail and Yahoo accounts.
How the move works
- 1
Request it at get.gov
Verify your identity with Login.gov and choose a name. Most townships and every municipal authority must include the state, such as yourtownship-pa.gov.
- 2
A senior official approves
Your manager, council president or board chair approves the request. Get.gov says review usually takes about 10 business days.
- 3
Move your website
We set up DNS and HTTPS, then redirect your old .org or .com so no resident lands on a dead link.
We'll handle the move to .gov and rebuild your site so residents, search engines and AI assistants find accurate, official answers about permits, fees, meetings and ordinances.

For local businesses and organizations
Don't just be found. Be recommended by AI.
Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity now answer first, and an older website that AI can't read gets left off the short list.
See if AI recommends youHow people search has changed
- 1Google now puts an AI-written answer above the usual list of links on many searches.
- 2People ask AI on their phones and computers in plain conversation, the way they'd ask a neighbor.
- 3They expect an overview, a short list of recommended providers and the sources it came from.

What an AI-ready website includes

Q&A on the right pages
A real customer question as a heading, then a one or two sentence answer that AI can quote word for word. Small Q&As on each relevant page work better than one giant FAQ.
Structured data
Schema markup (machine-readable code) tells search engines and AI who you are, where you are, what you offer and which answers are yours, without guessing from the design.
Real text, not scanned PDFs
AI struggles with PDFs that have no text layer. Fees, hours and meeting times belong on the page as clean tables and lists.
A complete Google Business Profile
Your hours, services, photos and reviews kept current where Google's AI answers pull local recommendations from.

For townships and authorities
Does a .gov cost anything?
No. CISA, the federal agency that runs .gov, charges nothing to register a .gov domain or to renew it. The cost is in the work around it, moving your website and email and keeping them current.
Who can get a .gov?
Only verified U.S. government organizations. In Pennsylvania that means counties, cities, boroughs and townships, special districts such as water and sewer authorities, and school districts.
Does our name have to include PA?
Usually. Municipal authorities and other special districts always need the state in the name. A township or borough can leave it out when no other U.S. city, town or county shares its name, and few Pennsylvania names are that rare.
Who has to approve the request?
A senior official. For a municipality get.gov asks for the mayor, council president, manager or an equivalent, and for an authority its chair, executive director or an equivalent. Whoever submits the request verifies their identity through Login.gov.
How long does it take?
Get.gov says its review usually takes about 10 business days after you submit, and longer when a request needs a closer look. Once it is approved we move your website and email and point your old address at the new one.
What happens to our old .com or .org?
Keep it. We redirect it to the .gov, and old links, business cards and bookmarks still reach the right page.
Will a .gov move us up in Google?
Not on its own. Google doesn't rank a page higher for being on .gov, but a .gov helps residents and AI assistants tell the official source from a lookalike, and the clear pages for permits, fees and meetings that come with the move are what get those answers found.
For businesses and organizations
What makes a website AI-ready?
Mostly what makes a site good for people and for Google: pages that answer real customer questions in plain words, real text instead of scanned PDFs, structured data that names your business, address and services, and a Google Business Profile that matches. There is no special AI-only code.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT or Google will recommend us?
No one honestly can. What we can do is measure whether AI assistants recommend you today and who they name instead, then fix what's in the way and keep checking.
Do we need an llms.txt file?
No. Google has said it doesn't use llms.txt, and none of the major AI assistants has committed to reading it. We put that effort into your pages and your Business Profile instead.
How do I find out whether AI recommends my business now?
Request a free AI citation report. We ask the major AI assistants the kinds of questions your customers ask and show you where your business comes up and where it doesn't.
